Handling the Stresses of Life with Love

I want to share a collection of verses that point to the importance of love.

You have likely heard these verses several times, but please do not let that cause you to pass over this encouragement without considering memorizing them.

Once memorized, you can meditate on them throughout the day and call them to service as the ultimate checklist against what Jesus has called you to do in any situation – whether that’s running late in the checkout line or in the throes of a tough conversation; run through the list.

Frustrated, worried, concerned, angry, scared, or upset? Go through the list, one by one and make sure your actions and attitude align with God’s word.

Handling the

Verses to Memorize

Ecclesiastes 12:13: That’s the whole story. Here now is my final conclusion: Fear God and obey his commands, for this is everyone’s duty.

John 14:15: If you love me, obey my commandments.

John 13:34-35: So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other. 35 Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.”

Romans – 13:10: Love does no wrong to others, so love fulfills the requirements of God’s law.

1 Corinthians 13:4–7: Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.

My Prayer for a Heart of Love

God, would you give us understanding that we may keep your law and obey it with all our hearts? Would you turn our hearts toward your statutes and not toward selfish gain? Would you turn our eyes away from worthless things and preserve our lives according to your word? Thank you. Amen.
