Website Content: One Tip to Increase Conversions

Let me tell you a short story about our small technology company and how we grew our number of website leads by adding one simple ingredient to our website. Can you guess what it was?

US!

That’s right, you read that correctly, we added a lot more information about WHO Mavideans are!

Last year, we had the great idea to do something a little unique and we created a FUN video bio page for every Mavidean.

I know, you’ve seen a thousand bio pages in your life while searching for a service or product. #boring

The important thing here is not that we added a “bio” or “meet the team” page, but that we brought out our personalities and found a way to communicate who we really are through our website!

Be Real

There is a transition happening in our culture because of social media…we yearn for real pictures of real people doing real things. Gone are the days of static stock photos and serious looking lawyer pictures on your website. The stock images on every page are just not going to cut it anymore. Customers are looking to know the true you.

Do You Know Who You Are?

Recently, Mavidea went through the exercise of defining our purpose statement. The leadership team took many hours over several meetings to really dig deep and discover who we really are and why we are that way.

After some soul searching and passionate debates, we came to this conclusion…our purpose statement is “Have Fun Serving Others” – that statement is why Mavideans work at Mavidea and what draws them to Mavidea.

Beyond the paycheck, we want to serve others well while having fun! So why not show the world who we are and how that makes us the BEST technology company around?

Meet the Team

We created the meet the team page featuring video bios of each Mavidean. We made the decision to keep those bios light hearted and goofy because that’s who we are! And ya know what? People LOVE our meet the team page! They feel like they know who we are. They laugh at our dumb blooper reel, and it makes them feel more comfortable working with us.

When we talk to them on the phone, an instant connection is formed as a result of the video bios. They know who we are and what our goal is – to have fun serving them.

So – the one very important tip I have for you is to take a good look at your website and ask yourself “do customers get a feel for who we really are when they visit our site?”

If the answer is no, then take some time brainstorming what you could do to add some YOU! to your website. It just might pay off in the form of more website leads.
