Remember, for Office 365 not all versions of Microsoft Office are created equal. Office 2003 does not work at all. Office 2007 / 2008 work but have reduced functionality. Office 2010 / 2011 / 2013 are fully supported.
By default Outlook archives email older than 6 months to the desktop. Migrating this email takes more time because we have to look for and find the files on each desktop in order to import them. Some organizations prefer a clean start, and some organizations must retain all email.
