In celebration of Earth Day, Mavidea Technology Group, IBM and Goodwill are hosting an IT recycling event for the community to safely recycle old computer hardware.
Bloomington, IL – April 2nd, 2010 – Mavidea Technology Group, LLC (Mavidea), a local business that offers IT Consulting, Web Design and Marketing Services in Illinois and throughout the US, today announced they are partnering with IBM and Goodwill to host a computer hardware recycling event for the Bloomington community.
The Recycle IT event was created to give the community a chance to safely recycle their old computer hardware. “Individually, we must be responsible for our environment and our planet. As a company, Mavidea feels an even greater level of responsibility and we are taking action with The Land of Lincoln Goodwill. Join us as we honor Earth Day and provide a process for you to recycle old computers and technology hardware” says Erik Barnlund, Mavidea’s Chief Executive Officer.
At the event, people can drop off their old computer hardware and Goodwill’s recycling program will collect the computer hardware to be refurbished if possible or properly recycled, part of the program involves wiping all hard drives before refurbishing or recycling – this action is closely monitored. The event will be held outside of Mavidea’s offices in the Fox & Hounds parking lot, on Saturday, April 24th from 10 – 3pm. Mavidea is located at 200 West Monroe St. – food will be provided for those who drop off computer hardware.
The following computer hardware will be collected; anything not on this list will not be accepted:
- Computers (desktops and laptops)
- Printers (laser and inkjet)
- Monitors
- Keyboards and mice
- Scanners
- Cords and cables
- Computer speakers
- Hard drives
- Software
- Ink and toner cartridges
